The lechon taco good times on University Avenue will come to an end with the closure of Mi Casa Su Casa this Saturday, February 8. The Twin Cities only Mexican Pinoy restaurant had opened this summer serving a combination of classic dishes ranging from pork sisig to tortas. The cuisines blended reflected couple behind the restaurant, Juvelyn Mellado brought the Filipino food she grew up with and her husband, Saul Mellado brought the Mexican flavors.
This was their first restaurant, opening Mi Casa Su Casa at the end of June 2018 in the former Silloutte Bakery address on the corner of Western and University. The closure was announced yesterday on Facebook. The doors will be locked until Saturday, when they will open one final time to clear out the inventory.
There is hope that the restaurant will pop-up somewhere, some day in the future, but no concrete plans have been announced yet.
Mi Casa Su Casa will open at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
It is with great regret and sorrow in our hearts that we are closing our doors. Saturday will be our last and only day...
