Falls Landing, the new restaurant from lauded chef JD Fratzke will open for dinner tomorrow night, Tuesday June 25. This is a throwback to the golden age of road trips, just a hop and skip outside of the Twin Cities in Cannon Falls. The restaurant is the final piece of David Olson’s Artisan Plaza, a food hall that also has a casual eatery and market.
Serving all the classic rural finery, made from locally sourced ingredients, Falls Landing’s menu starts with deviled eggs, fried perch, and crab louie. Main dishes are a list of greatest hits in Midwestern comfort food from burgers and steak to fried chicken and a walleye roulade, naturally served with wild rice.
JD Fratzke has long been one of the most admired chefs in the Twin Cities. He rose to notability as the chef of Muffuletta before opening the Strip Club Meat and Fish. He also opened Saint Dinette and then Bar Brigade before stepping away from the kitchen for a quick respite. Falls Landing marks his highly anticipated return to the professional kitchen.
The restaurant will open at 4 p.m. and the reservation system is now open.
