Mucci’s, the modern Italian with a nostalgic sensibility restaurant from chef Chris Uhrich and Tim Niver has opened its second location in Minneapolis’ Lyn/Lake neighborhood. Much remains the same in the new spot: the hangover kale, calamari, and perfect meatballs have all made the trek across the river. However, the new spot has several notable differences from the Saint Paul original. For starters, there’s the room. Where the original is dark with few windows, the new space is wall to wall windows with some that open to the street. Also, in the kitchen is the massive wood fire stove that is now charring the pizzas. Third, there is the bar. Mucci’s Saint Paul only serves beer and wine, but the new spot expands those offerings with all the best and glittering bottles full of liquor.
Another notable and exciting difference, with the expanded room comes the ability to take reservations. Mucci’s Minneapolis is open for dinner six days a week, and closed on Mondays. Check out the full menu here.
