The Nonprofit Appetite for Change, which runs Breaking Bread Cafe has announced that the restaurant will pause operations. The organization says the closure is necessary in order to ensure its commitment to being stewards of the funds donated to it.
Meanwhile, all other operations, including Breaking Bread’s catering arm; Kindred Kitchen’s commercial kitchen rentals; Community Cooks, and space rental will remain operational.
First opened in 2015, Breaking Bread’s community outreach included job training alongside fresh and local food all available at an affordable price.
It’s possible that if/when the cafe’s potential for operation returns, the organization might re-open it for dining.
