Stilheart is a new distillery taking shape at 124 North 3rd Street with a crew of familiar names in the local booze world. The new two-story distillery and cocktail room should be open before the end of this year. Heading up the distillery will be Kirsten Karnitz. She was a part of the opening crew of Minneapolis’ Lawless Distilling back in 2014.

The street-level lounge will sport big couches, a giant mural, and swank details built for a night out on the town. Downstairs, where production will be, will have a bit more rock n roll bar, with speakers displayed above the bar, and a street-art vibe. Cocktails will be made with the spirits made on site and overseen by Bittercube, the cocktail consulting company known for their nationally beloved bitters and playfully sophisticated drinks. Sixteen spiked concoctions will be served on tap, plus there will be several zero-proof drinks poured inside.

Although separate from Lawless, there are still links between the businesses in addition to Karnitz, and having Bittercube bartenders. Head distiller Jeff Fricke will oversee Stilheart’s distilling as well as Lawless’.
