After a year and a half on the edge of the North Loop neighborhood, Sweet Chow has closed. The restaurant first opened in February of 2018 and was inspired by a bike trip that owners Julie Hartley, Greg Cummings and Ami Francis took through Southeast Asia, particularly in the city of Hanoi, Vietnam. The avid global travelers were new to the hospitality industry, but steadily worked to build a neighborhood eatery with fresh flavors and an adjacent sweet shop and bicycle delivery.
The savory side opened first and the ice cream shop/ sweet side complement followed later.
The restaurant announced its immediate closure today on its Facebook page, “It is with great sadness that we announce that SweetChow has permanently closed its doors. We thank you all for your support. We have enjoyed our time with you at SweetChow. Ciao.”
