Yia Vang’s mobile restaurant, Union Hmong Kitchen, will open inside Republic at Seven Corners, at 11 a.m. Friday October 23. Popular dishes like his Hilltribe fried chicken sandwich, khao poon, Hmong hot dish, and more will be available for take out or dining in inside the beer-friendly eatery. Vang’s menu takes over the entirety of Republic’s food menu, but the restaurant’s wide selection of beer and cocktails will continue to be served in a Wonder Twins activation situation.

In addition to the greatest hits dishes, the new location also allows Union Hmong Kitchen to branch out into serving brunch on the weekend.

Moving Union Hmong Kitchen, from its last incarnation inside an Airstream trailer outside of Sociable Cider Werks is just one more project for the busy chef. Vang is also hard at work building Vinai, one of the most anticipated new restaurant’s of the year. That restaurant will open at 1717 Northeast 2nd Street in Minneapolis in the spring of 2021.

All the food is available for take out through online ordering.
