The list of restaurants closed in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic continues to grow as Bar Luchador in Stadium Villiage taps out today. The restaurant and bar, owned by chef Angelo Pennacchio was open for take away for a bit, but he made the ultimate decision that, facing an uncertain future, it was time to close. In a parting note on the restaurant’s website, he wrote, “We could keep scratching and clawing our way through these strange weeks and months and try to keep fighting... but I really don’t know what the restaurant world is going to look like when all is said and done.”
Bar Luchador served some of the best tacos in the Twin Cities and had a fantastic spot to sip tequila. During its tenure it was recognized by City Pages as Best Sports Bar and Best Margarita.
The restaurant joins a growing list of businesses that will not recover after the statewide closures are lifted.
