Pour some dill pickle beer into a plastic cup and cheer to Minnesota State Fair, which was canceled for 2020 thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. Several local breweries will attempt to ease the pain of missing the fair by releasing what would have been exclusive 2020 beers to the thirsty masses. The Minnesota State Fair released a short list this week, which is included in the line-up below, along with additional popular brews and some that were meant to make their debut at this year’s fair. This list will continue to be updated.
Tin Whiskers Brewing Company
Deep Space Brine Dill Pickle-Style Kolsch
With a slightly tweaked recipe, the popular Kolsch is brewed with fresh dill and cucumbers from a Minnesota farm and will be available in August for a limited time.
Bent Brewstillery
Snaquiri
Bent’s Snaquiri beer, inspired by the quintessential tropical drink, the daiquiri, was set to make its debut during the 2020 fair. Good news: the hazy brew with key lime, passion fruit and mango will be available soon at Bent and retail outlets.

Lift Bridge Brewing Company
Mini Donut Beer and Key Lime Pie
The Mini Donut beer has garnered a zealous following since debuting at The Ball Park Cafe in 2013 as the first ever craft beer exclusive to the fair. Along with the refreshing Key Lime Pie beer, will be available at Lift Bridge August 27 through September 7.
Sociable Cider Werks
Raspberry Hard Cider and Sparkling Honey Hard Cider
The sweet and tart ciders usually served at Giggle’s Campfire Grill will be available at Sociable on August 1st. Sadly, no lumberjacks or leaping pups next door.
Big Wood Brewery
Chocolate Chip Cookie Beer
The not-too-sweet brew usually poured at Andy’s Grill during the fair will be available at Big Wood starting in mid-August. Just in time to pair with those six buckets of Sweet Martha’s Cookies you scored at the food parade.
Excelsior Brewing Company
S’Mores Beer
S’mores, blue lakes, and the state fair- what could be more Minnesota summeresque? Head over to Excelsior for a taste of summer August 8th through September 7th.
