Celebrity chef Guy Fieri has hitched his wagon to the ghost kitchen trend by teaming up with Virtual Dining Concepts and restaurateur Robert Earl to create a delivery-only burgers and chicken sandwiches through Flavortown Kitchen. There are multiple locations across the country and now even more, operating out of some Buca Di Beppo Kitchens. Flaovrtown can now be found in four locations in the Twin Cities area: Burnsville, St. Paul, Eden Prairie, and Maple Grove. Maple Grove and Burnsville first opened on Feb. 17. St. Paul and Eden Prairie followed suit on March 3.
On the menu are dishes that one would expect to be both off the chain and bomb dot com: bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers called Pig Poppers, bourbon brown sugar buffalo wings, burgers topped with bacon and mac and cheese, cheesesteak egg rolls, and even a veggie burger. Cajun chicken Alfredo, chicken Parmesan, frickles (that’s fried pickles), and Flavortown fries. And yes, there will be Donkey Sauce for slathering on everything. Fieri’s trademark condiment, which bares a more than passing resemblance to garlic aioli.
Those interested in trying out Fieri’s food can order online.
Pre-pandemic, Fieri was also expected to open a Guy’s Chicken Shack in the Mall of America. Those plans appear to be on hold.
