Lunch can be the carrot or the medal to get us through the day, especially now when every other day is Blursday and the months are blending into each other. Whether looking for a quick and easy delivery option, something healthy and substantial, or a feast of regal proportions, these Minneapolis restaurants offer fabulous food.

Brasa

Brasa meals are best ordered by the plate, with slow roasted meats like succulent roasted pork or chicken with a gently spiced gravy, pair with sofrito rice or rice and beans, throw in a few sweet plantains, or a stack of yucca fries, and it’s a full gluten-free feast. Order online.

Sun Street Bread

This South Minneapolis restaurant makes some fantastic bread and biscuits, which means it’s an excellent midday choice for something stuffed between something sliced. This Lyn/Lake restaurant began as a food truck, so the entire menu began as a midday treat for downtown workers. Those dishes like the yum yum bowl, or curried chicken burrito have become classic dishes. WSK offers everything for takeout, or they do their own delivery. Tender chicken, roasted over charcoal, with crispy skin sizzled with a little grill char is the basis of all things wonderful from this restaurant inside Plaza Mexico on Lake Street. Order a juicy bird on ChowNow along with a little arroz al limón and an agua fresca.

Lu’s Sandwiches

With three locations to choose from, there’s probably a Lu’s that delivers lunch to you if you’re in Minneapolis. This restaurant specializes in hearty banh mi sandwiches, with perfectly crusty, tender bread, it’s a meal easy to crave. Order online.

Nolo’s Kitchen and Bar

Located in the North Loop, this restaurant serves up take out from breakfast through dinner. Lunch is an excellent excuse to order the deviled egg toast, bringing the old school classic lunch of an egg salad sandwich into a modern era. There are also hearty burgers and crispy crust pizzas. Gerard and Brittney Klass’s new soul food restaurant inside Graze packs a serious flavor wallop into every dish. Fried chicken lovers will dig the Big K.R.I.T sandwich, or dig into a bowl of jerk chicken and waffles. There is also vegan mac and cheese, and build-your-own bowls that are easily made gluten free. Order online for takeout and delivery.

MidNord Empanadas

Downtown workers got used to being able to count on this food truck for blistery-crusted empanadas stuffed with savory fillings. Now, MidNord has moved inside the Graze North Loop food hall, and those empanadas are still available for pick up, along with some cinnamon sugar crusted churros. Order online.

Quang

This Eat Street classic eatery serves some of the city’s favorite pho and stuffed Vietnamese eggrolls. Regulars at Quang always have a favorite, and all are available for take out or delivery. Order online, but plan accordingly. Quang is closed on Tuesdays.

Manny’s Tortas

The ultimate in sandwich construction, the tortas at Manny’s always delivery the goods with steamy, crunchy, savory, and spicy flavors no matter your meat combination. Sandwich enthusiasts agree this is one for the record books, and an affordable option. Order takeout from the Midtown Global Market location by calling the restaurant.

France 44

This liquor store and deli has it all, including a massive selection of incredible sandwiches which make great use of its enormous cheese selection. There are also sausages, salads, and a charcuterie board. Add in a bottle of wine and an online order from France 44 is a whole thing. Vegan soul food is served for takeout on Lake Street starting at noon, with delivery options through Door Dash and Postmates.
