Fish Fry Fridays Are Here: 22 Restaurants Serving Divine Baskets

Fresh from the fryer and ready right now

View as Map

The Lenten season is upon us as of this week which means we see the return of the tradition of the Friday night fish fry. This centuries old practice of abstaining from eating meat on Fridays during the 40 days of Lent has become mainstream among local restaurants whether diners are doing it for religious reasons or not. Hot, crispy cod with a side of fries and tartar sauce is the standard but many places have their own take on the dish.

We’ve got tried and true classic neighborhood fish fry specials, year round fish ‘n chips favorites, plus a couple newcomers to the scene. Here are 22 places to get fried fish in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Restaurants are listed geographically from west to east.
