This elegant Linden Hills restaurant does gorgeous things with roasted meats and vegetables. Choose your own adventure in roasted meats like a perfectly cooked pork chop before perusing the vegetables like chili-oil dressed cucumbers and the potato churros. Creamy potatoes are deep fried and are basically non-negotiable. A visit to Martina isn’t complete without an order of these.

Chef Daniel del Prado’s second restaurant delves into Mexican cuisine and makes great use of masa. In fact, the kitchen is entirely gluten free. That means everything from the gorgeous memelita with pate and shiso to the ribs to the tacos are all up for grabs.

Located just a couple of blocks from Lake of the Isles, this tartan wallpapered restaurant is wonderfully serene from breakfast through dinner. Gluten-free options abound from the knock-out huevos rancheros in the morning to the mussels in pistou broth midday and Skuna Bay salmon in the evening. The menu changes often, but there are always several selections to choose from at each meal. There’s even a grilled steak on the kids menu for little folk that have sensitivities.

Serious levels of salty fish sauce, lime, and giant handfuls of fresh herbs accompany many of the dishes. The brunch congee is one of the all-time all star dishes in the Twin Cities. Although, that banana blossom salad for dinner might be a close second.

In the evening, the restaurant offers a prix fixe three course menu that has a dedicated gluten free version. It’s even a dollar cheaper than the regular $59 tasting menu. And the atmosphere is sublime.
