A modern bakery with a little grandmother-comfort soul built in, Honey & Rye creates all the bakery favorites, including exceptional pie that changes with the seasons. The flakey crust gets a flavor boost from Hope Creamery butter.
2. Black Walnut Bakery
Chef Sarah Botcher’s serene bakery and cafe on Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis offers a whole tin of comfort for special order with her butterscotch banana cream pie. For Easter there’s also a special coconut cream available.
3. Pie & Mighty
This unconventional little shop doesn’t always stock pie. Instead, fans sign up for the Pie Loop, a weekly newsletter that offers pie orders by way of a lottery system. The small crew only bakes so many pies weekly, that the owners have gotten creative in dolling them out.
