All of Blue Plate’s eight restaurants will be open shorter hours on Christmas Eve, offering their usual favorite-filled menus. Freehouse, Lowry and Groveland Tap will also open Christmas Day at 5 pm, when the Freehouse and Lowry will wisely offer a couple of Christmasy cocktails like the Spice Cake Cocktail crafted with spiced rum, orgeat, bitters and all spice. Wonder why no one offers fruitcake cocktails?

Mickey's Diner

Mickey’s Diner, an iconic piece of Americana in the heart of Saint Paul, has been operating 24/7 every day of the year for nearly 70 years. What could be more Norman Rockwell than taking the kids for a stack of fluffy buttermilk pancakes and an-old fashioned malt after gift opening? It doesn’t even matter how long they take to rip that wrapping paper off because Mickey’s serves breakfast all day.
