This is a safe space for those who dearly love a mom, but maybe didn’t think ahead to book a reservation for Sunday. It’s the busiest day after Valentine’s in the restaurant business and most of the plumb seats at the hottest new brunch restaurants were reserved weeks ago. That’s okay, because there are still several places to take that special lady for a delicious meal to celebrate all the hard work she does without her ever being the wiser that this wasn’t a belabored decision.

Steven Brown’s seminal Linden Hills restaurant still has reservations for Mother’s Day - which is bonkers considering this is a hot seat to grab on even a regular weekend. Slide in for kiddie meals that keep young ones occupied (a promise of a trip to nearby Wild Rumpus books helps) Order up the out-of-this-world waffles and toast mom with a superb glass of wine.

4Bells has a new executive chef who just won the Cochon555 whole hog culinary competition and its also got one of the prettiest patios in the city overlooking Loring Park. Weather permitting those rooftop seats will be open and from 10 am to 4 pm they’ll be serving bottomless “Mom-osas.”
