Lone Spur Grill and Bar

Commenter Paul Maki writes: "At least once a winter I need some Bola Red Chili from Lone Spur in Minnetonka. Fiery hot, Texas-style chili with great chunks of brisket. It may not be subtle, but it sure is hot!"

Best of India

A reader writes into the tipline: "eBst spicy dish is the Chana Masala (chickpea masala) at the Best of India in St. Louis Park. Their 'medium' heat sends most people into an endorphin overdrive. It's not just the heat though - in my opinion they serve the best Indian food in the city and it's not even close. I'll take them over Namaste or Ghorka Palace any day of the week. Their food is complex and consistently well executed."

Wakame Sushi & Asian Bistro

A reader writes into the tipline: "My favorite spicy dish in the Twin Cities is the Pad Thai at Wakame in St. Louis Park. Diners choose what level of spice they prefer. You can also add tofu, beef, chicken or shrimp. It's the perfect combination of sweet and spicy!"

Szechuan Spice

Commenter Whiskey & Bagels writes: "The Big Bowl at Szechuan Spice is not only a gigantic bowl of deliciousness, but it's made with some kind of Szechuan chili that really packs a punch. When I want a spicy meal this is my first thought. Not just hot but flavorful."

Namaste Cafe

RazorClamz comments: "Honestly, ANY of the curries at Namaste Cafe. Spice level 5 and a side of their habañero chutney will not only have you reaching for the water, but the tissues as well. Serious spice without ever compromising the incredible flavor. My personal favorites are the creamy masala, hot and tangy lamb, and goan coconut fish."

Krung Thep Thai

A reader writes into the tipline: "I love the spicy but fresh crunch of Krungthep's Thai papaya salad that immediately makes you reach for water even though you know it won't help you. "

Brasa Premium Rotisserie

Commenter meezownplace writes: "Brasa in NE's new Green Chili is excellent - I don't think anyone is executing chili as well in town. It's very well-balanced and bright. The tomatillos bring a bit of sweetness that compliment the building heat from the 5 peppers used. The perfectly-tender pork shoulder doesn't hurt, either. It finishes with a nice vinegar tang paired with the crème fraiche garnish, it's a winter dish I could eat every damned day."

The Strip Club

A reader writes into the tipline with a creative take on spicy dish - The Strip Club's famous spicy cocktail, the Cobra Kai (Kilo Kai Rum, habañero bitters, and house-made sour).

Harry Singh's Carribean Restaurant

A reader writes into the tipline: "Harry Singh's Jerk Chicken Roti is no joke. The soft roti bread, chicken, and veggies looks comforting but even a few bites, with or without the extra hot sauce, are going to make you sweat. "

Supatra's Thai Cuisine

A reader writes into the tipline: "Green curry at Supatra's on W. 7th. Whenever the mood for spicy hits, I end up there."
